1997 -

With Master Anne Marie Currell retiring the KMAI and it's members were looking

for a way to continue what Master Currell had started. It was then that current blackbelts Sue Whitman and Ron Jovanovitz decided to purchase the KMAI from the Currell's, with the help of the current blackbelts including Master John McDowell and his family the idea was to continue to grow the KMAI. Sue Whitman envisioned not only a Martial Arts School, but a "full service" alternative health and fitness school serving the community. She added Yoga, Tai Chi, Senior Toning, a Women's fitness class and more.
